A reality show in which contestants meet and get acquainted in a completely dark room before selecting to see one of their dates in the light, and deciding whether to pursue the relationship further.
The series, which was created by Talpa and is distributed by John de Mol’s company, was previously on Sky Living in the UK, will be on the ITV2 channel.
And after they see each other in the light for the first time, they have to make the difficult decision…do they stay with the person they fell for in the dark, or leave them behind?
The format deal is another sign of the formats company and broadcaster working more closely. The other two women left the house after finally seeing the men whom they had been dating in the dark (looks do mean something, even to women).Anyway, this got me thinking about how love in Christianity is revealed as something completely different. We are like the two women who walked out disappointed in our dates receding hairline and big ears. The singles meet up every day in the darkroom — first as a group, then one on one. And of course, all of their experiences are discussed in detail in each side of the house, with rivalries flaring up when two people set their sights on the same person. After several days of meeting others in the darkroom, the participants select the one member of the opposite sex that they want to see revealed in the light.
The new UK version of the dating format will be made by another company ITV has acquired, Twofour.
