The seventh-rounder continued to rotate in fairly evenly with Lacy while the veteran was in the game. He will be a name to know on the waiver wire and is perhaps a late-round option in deep leagues.
Carson has clearly earned a roster spot with 156 yards on 25 touches this preseason, but he looks like the No. While Eddie Lacy plodded his way to 23 yards on seven touches, Carson exploded for 44 yards on his seven opportunities and looked clearly to be the more determined downhill back.
Thomas Rawls and Eddie Lacy were both active, but neither notched a touch. He will have RB2 appeal for next week's hosting of the Colts. The majority of Carson's yardage came on a 30-yard scamper in the third quarter. Keep Carson stashed, but he's not yet startable, especially considering Seattle's offensive line situation. Prosise should handle the passing-down work, but Carson could end up getting the most touches if he shows as well as he did in the preseason. With Thomas Rawls (ankle) at the top of the depth chart and not 100 percent yet, Carson could be part of the game plan against the Packers in Week 1.Even after a strong preseason, Carson was always just a stash in hopes of an injury, and, as it turns out, it looks like those hopes will come to fruition in Week 1, with Rawls not expected to play because of an ankle issue. He's reportedly been the best back at practice while also showing big-play ability and some solid pass protection during preseason action.Perhaps Rawls was still getting up to speed, but Carson has shown himself to be clearly the best option in the backfield and should be treated as the starter moving forward. Carroll is the king of seeing everything through rose-colored glasses. Prosise played 16 while Eddie Lacy was left in the dust with seven.(He consistently talked up Eddie Lacy just last week only to play him seven snaps.) But Carson has at least been deserving of the praise dating back to the summer. I'm anxious to see how he grows with us and if his role can expand as we find out more stuff." Thomas Rawls (ankle) is coming back this week only to make the position less clear in Seattle, but Carson needs to be owned in all formats as a stash. Carson was also the most effective of the trio, rushing six times for 39 yards. With Thomas Rawls sidelined, Carson was easily the Seahawks' most effective runner, looking like a fighter jet compared to Eddie Lacy's Cessna.
Eddie Lacy seems like the best fantasy bet considering he was actually active on Sunday night, but Thomas Rawls should be involved as well, creating a headache on an already crowded waiver wire.
