I would like to know whether it is possible to auto-update the pivot table, if i insert or delete any row or column from the database.
On manually updating it, pivot table does not update the report.
Whenever something is changed in the Details tab, and someone switches to the Summary tab, I want the Pivot Table to auto update to match the new data. This would be tied specifically to the sheet for your summary.
If you do this, you can also use the refresh technique to update the Pivot Table even when new data (rows/columns) are added to the data source (since an Excel Table automatically accounts for new rows/columns that are added).
This solution is not ideal if you make numerous changes to the data sheet.
In this example, the source data is on a sheet named “Forecast”, and the pivot table is on the “Product” sheet.
You can simply refresh the Pivot Table and it’ll account for the new rows/columns.
While refreshing a Pivot table is as easy as two clicks, you still need to do this every time there is a change.
If anybody knows any way by macro or so to update automatically by refreshing the database also This doesn't fully update the pivot table as you would still need to right click and refresh data, but you can create a dynamic range so the pivot table automatically adjusts the range to be used for pivot table. or are you really looking for fully automated, in which case I think yiou would need code. But whenever a new row is inserted or deleted, pivot does not recognize on its own (even after refreshing/updating manually).
